Co-founder of AWWA Period Care, Michele Wilson was one of the first to see the need for eco-friendly, effective, comfortable, premium, period wear for women. AWWA is derived from the Māori word 'awa' meaning river or flow. Māori referred to their period as te awa atua - the divine river, and this is the foundation of the brand. AWWA aims to offer a world where every person can feel divine and empowered during their period. AWWA products are made from natural, organic and recycled fabrics, toxic-free processes by ethical makers. In addition, Michele is passionate about ensuring that everyone can manage their periods with dignity. This means that AWWA donate 2% of all revenue by way of product donation towards ending period poverty in Aotearoa. AWWA donate 2% of revenue by way of product donation towards ending period poverty.
