Who Am I
“I am planted in the soil of my ancestors”
Creative force Morghan Ariki Bradshaw founded FUGAWI to explore stories that speak to experience, belief, and history. Of Cook Islands Māori descent, Morghan draws inspiration from the worlds and people that intersect with her own, transforming words and phrases into declarations of identity, affiliation, and visibility.
At FUGAWI, clothing becomes a proclamation to be seen. Each piece captures an energy or narrative, embracing the full spectrum of human identity, from softer feminine silhouettes to oversized, structured masculine forms. Morghan explains:
“I don’t really design to a masculine or feminine ideal. I want FUGAWI to capture different energies and narratives – if you were walking down the street, how would others visually receive you and understand you without communication? This goes back to how people want to exist or feel seen.”
FUGAWI ensures that all people are represented. Whether through bold typography, architectural cuts, or fluid draping, every garment invites the wearer to step into their truth – without saying a word.
