Who Am I
“Transforming intergenerational trauma into deeply felt joy one crochet loop at a time.”
Lissy and Rudi Robinson-Cole are visual artists whose medium of choice is neon crochet. Their work is inspired by their Māori culture and ancestors and is an explosion of joy and celebration of life in full living colour. Together they create three dimensional, sculptural forms which fuse traditional Māori whakairo patterning and design with crochet to create large scale works that express joy and celebrates ngā toi Māori in a way never seen before. They present ngā toi Māori in a way that disarms people, gently drawing them in to experience the unique way they see the world. Lissy and Rudi are passionate about making work that ignites joy in people and sparks imagination.
