Manawa Creative is the physical expression of the aroha (love) and sisterhood that underpins the life-long friendship between founders Lisa Awatere and George Manuel. At the heart of the label, is the desire to create beautiful, stylish pieces to wear that connect to their heritage. The label, like the friendship between Lisa and George, is the sum of its two halves; one representing the material/tangible and practical, and the other embodying imagination, drive and creativity. A label that is all about expressing the strength and beauty of wahine and Māori culture in a way that connects with the demands of modern life.
