ŌKU was founded by the husband-and-wife team Helen Paul-Smith and Scott Smith and is B Corp certified. Both Helen and Paul are passionate about Aotearoa’s natural environment and the unique combination of botanicals found here which have been used traditionally by Māori to enhance health and wellbeing. Helen brings the wisdom of her tūpuna to ŌKU, this in combination with Scott’s over 20 years of skill in product development and as a naturopath, medical herbalist/clinician has led to the brand’s loyal following and award-winning products which includes teas, elixirs and skincare. ŌKU ‘s artisanal products are lovingly handmade and unique to Aotearoa New Zealand, and every product purchased helps with the regeneration of New Zealand’s native bush.
