The Kukupara (Black Mussel) set is a new addition to our "Moana" collection.
Ethically sourced shells from the coastline of Aotearoa holding an elegant curve sculpted by the sea. The Kukupara carries rare fragments of Kapia (Kauri Gum) creating a unity of sea & forrest. The ātaahua (beautiful) kapia is emphasized with a gold gilt undertone. The barnicles are sanded smooth & the shell is resin washed for strength. Providing a high gloss finish hightlighting a deep black exterior that carry subtle hints of natural blue and purple.
The little black mussels work in collective groups as they cling to the shoreline rocks. They band together providing strength in numbers against the battering waves of Tangaroa. Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari taku toa he toa takitini - My strength is not that of one , but of many.
Intentions - Like a mussel clinging to the rock, like a Kauri tree standing firm, hold true to your space & dont be pulled away by the crashing waves of life.
