Toropapa refers to a design originally created through carving, which represents the layered and interconnected nature of Whakapapa.
When this design is adapted and applied in various contexts beyond its original carved form, it becomes a symbol of the complex and multifaceted nature of Whakapapa. 
Whakapapa is never a straightforward or linear concept, but rather a tapestry of ancestral connections that shape our identities and link us to our tipuna (ancestors).
“E kore au e ngaro, he kākano i ruia mai i Rangiātea.”
